Talking to Strangers

09/22/2023, 3:30 pm–4:30 pm
Mary Gates Hall (MGH) 231

Have you been feeling disconnected to others IRL? A combination of technology, screen use, and the post-pandemic world has left young adults grappling with loneliness and desiring more social connection. But how do we take the first step in getting to know others? Join UW LiveWell’s Peer Health Educators for this interactive workshop about skills for striking up conversations with new people!

This event will consist of a brief presentation on the research behind talking to strangers. There will also be multiple five-minute rounds where students are paired one-on-one to practice conversational skills, answer icebreaker questions, and create meaningful connections!
